Depending on your treatment plan, you may also receive medications such as Pro-Nox®, an oral anti-anxiety medication, or prescription pain medication to help maximize your comfort. Having transportation arranged allows you to focus entirely on your recovery without worrying about driving afterward.
Before you leave, Dr. Zamani and her team will review your postoperative instructions, including when it is safe to resume driving and other normal daily activities.
Choosing local anesthesia does not change how quickly the surgical tissues heal. Swelling, tenderness, incision care, and activity restrictions are the same regardless of which anesthetic is used.
The difference is that patients are not also recovering from being put to sleep.
